Hello everyone! Thank you for visiting the chinchilla foodie blog. I was thinking about how to start my first blog post for a couple of hours then I finally began typing!

The kettle's On!

Please let me briefly introduce myself.

My name is Mio. I was born and raised in Japan the city of Tokyo which is well known for Anime, video games and a convenience store (convenience store is like dairy in NZ but it is 24/7 and you can buy pretty much anything). I was happy living there but I also always dreamed about living overseas, so I worked from 9am to 2am through two different jobs Monday to Friday to make my dream come true (although, It is actually not uncommon to work more than 8 hours per day in Japan).

Bye Bye Japan and Hello New Zealand!!

Time flies like a rocket. It's been 4 years since I landed in NZ. My life in NZ has settled pretty much except I'm still dealing with a language barrier. But never mind! I'm happy mostly. People here are very nice and friendly. I finish my work on time everyday and so other people do! That's really amazing for me but I know it has to be like that. I love my country but I feel really great living in NZ.

One of the biggest reasons I love living in NZ is.. Food!!

I went Vegan about 3 years ago but I never get bored of food what I eat or missed animal products because there is a ton of other alternative stuff here in Auckland.

It's really fun to find vegan products. Some of them are intensely yummy, some are average just like regular foods. I feel like I have been doing treasure hunting every time I'm in a supermarket!!

I also love cooking. Finding and trying new recipes are my passion as well. My wallet sometime tells me I should create something by myself instead of spending hours to stair vegan products at supermarket.

This blog will be introducing foods I purchased as well as my cook. I will promise that my review is going to be honest. I'm also planning to show vegan restaurants in Japan at my coming up trip.

Bye Cha!
